Fresh off another “3AM” dust-up, Tay Will found himself in the middle of another Tory Lanez tsunami on “New Edition.” The piano-laced ode to a dimepiece has both artists vying for the attention and affection of the opposite S3x while balancing a steady diet of polygamy and mischief on the side.
While Tory’s hook blends well with the bass heavy production, the Auto-Tuned vocals sound similar to pretty much every other record he has dropped in the last few months. Most of them have some points of differentiation to them which offer a reason to replay them but the saturation point feels like it’s closer than ever with these freestyled vibes.
Tay does his best to keep up but with the momentum from Tory behind the record, the Seattle upstart is just trying to stay afloat on his surfboard while the One Umbrella waves cascade around him. His new project, Vanguard Music, will be dropping later in August.
