Another record-setting week for “VIEWS.”
Drake ‘s VIEWS will spend a fourth consecutive week at No. 1 on the albums chart, reports Billboard . As the album sits at No. 1 for the latest June 11-dated chart, VIEWS has already spent more weeks at No. 1 than any other album by a male artist in over four years.
The last man to have an album spend more weeks at the top of the Billboard 200 chart was Michael Buble, as his Christmas album went No. 1 for five consecutive weeks beginning in December 2011. Excluding holiday albums, Eminem ‘s Recovery is the last album to attain more weeks at No. 1 than Views. It racked up a total of seven nonconsecutive weeks atop the chart between July and September in 2010. On the previous albums chart, Drake matched the efforts of Justin Timberlake and The Weeknd , whose respective albums The 20/20 Experience and Beauty Behind the Madness each spent three weeks at No. 1.
In order to go No. 1 yet again, VIEWS sold an equivalent of 189,000 album units in the week ending May 26. Of that total, 50,000 are counted as traditional album sales, reports Nielsen Music. The album’s streaming numbers — 166.2 million streams — translated into an equivalent of 110,000 album units. In its fourth week, VIEWS was able to top Ariana Grande ‘s Dangerous Woman , which debuted at No. 2 with an impressive 175,000 equivalent album units moved, 129,000 of which are traditional album sales.
Upon the unveiling of last week’s chart, it was reported that Drake’s third-week streaming numbers were bigger than any other artist’s first-week streaming numbers…ever. That trend continues this week. The top four streaming weeks in history all belong to Views .
